On a site once named “one of the finest in the state” sits a former historic brick Exchange Hotel/Restaurant building. The former Coburns’ Exchange (and later, the Golden Hotel) was the most important spot in town, situated on the most prominent intersection – and closest to the all-important train depot whose business was the foundation of the town of Howard City.
Almost 150 years later – many things have changed, including the construction of a new highway bypass (US 131, two miles away), but the Forager will bring back the past glory days as the Howard City go-to spot.
